I don't know about you, but I feel like these last few weeks have been a whirlwind! I can't believe we're about to wrap up the first month of 2020. I mean, where did January go??
Sometimes it seems like settling into regular life and routine after the holidays can be almost as crazy as the holidays themselves!
When things are hectic, it can be hard to prioritize your fitness routine and make healthy choices along the way. Over the years I've the learned the importance of making it as easy as possible to choose well during busy moments. This can be as simple as meal prepping for the week ahead or keeping nutritious snacks in the pantry that you can grab in a pinch.
This morning, I decided to jot down a few of my most loved products that make eating well and being well just a bit easier (particularly when life is going 100mph!)
Here's my quick round-up:
This protein-packed mix is my go-to for yummy morning meals! It's so convenient to bring along on camping trips as well (nothing like pancakes over the fire!). I also like to use it as a quick and easy add-in when I'm tweaking baking recipes - it ups the protein content and just makes everything a little more filling and nutritious :)

In 2019, I got so much use out of my 3-compartment storage containers. They are perfect for meal prepping and they also help you to portion your meals appropriately. Just fill the large section with a non-starchy veggie (like leafy greens), and then the small compartments with a starchy veg (ex. sweet potatoes) and lean protein, and you're on your way to a well-rounded meal!
These little packets are a god-send! They are made from a clean, whole foods blend and all you have to do is add water and drink. It's a super simple way of getting in more fruits and veggies - perfect if your day is a bit hectic and you need a boost!
I am all about essentials oils. There really is an incredible variety available nowadays and they are so easy to use! Personally, I love using lavender and frankincense before bed - great for their calming/relaxation properties; a few drops of peppermint into my tea to calm the digestive system; and then a little neroli for an easy, laid back perfume.
Nowadays there is refined sugar in absolutely everything, so I am always on the look out for simple sweeteners without a ton of added sugar. The D'Vash nectars were a great find in 2019. They are organic, non-gmo, derived from plants and they've got 25% less sugar than honey! You can use them as a substitute when you're baking, to sweeten up your hot drinks, or as a finishing touch to your bowl of oatmeal. Just another easy, healthy swap that you don't have to think about!
